Tournament of Champions Total Purse:$125.00

Rules

Format

This year we will be doing $60 "20 Players - 1 Re-Buy" tournaments. This means you can either re-buy once and/or add-on before the 9:20pm break. You CAN re-buy and do an add-on. Re-Buys and add-ons are $10 per 1000. You can only add-on up to 6000 in chips. You are officially eliminated from contention once you have lost all of your chips anytime after your secondary re-buy or after the break.

Start Time

Tournaments will promptly start at 8:00 pm. Please arrive at 7:45 pm to allow for 15 minutes of set-up time. Any player arriving after play has commenced and until 8:20pm, “The Cummings Rule”, will receive the normal $6000 chip buy-in. You can avoid all of this by saying “I’m going to be late, so please blind me out until I get there…”.

Blinds

Each round of blinds will last 20 minutes. The blinds structure are as follows:

1. 8:00pm - 8:20pm $100-$200
2. 8:20pm - 8:40pm $200-$400
3. 8:40pm - 9:00pm $300-$600
4. 9:00pm - 9:20pm $400-$800
break
5. 9:20pm - 9:40pm $500-$1000
6. 9:40pm - 10:00pm $1000-$2000
7. 10:00pm - 10:20pm $2000-$4000
8. 10:20pm - 10:40pm $3000-$6000
9. 10:40pm - 11:00pm $4000-$8000
10. after 11:00pm $5000-$10000

During the break, chips will be converted to $500 and $1000. Chips will be rounded up or down based on the number chips. Players may give extra or left over chip(s) to other players in order to round up.

Players

There is a predetermined list of players, 20 in total, invited to the year-long tournaments. Please do not invite additional people on your own. If we see the need for additional players, we may open the tournament and invite other players. If you have someone visiting (a friend, family member, etc.) feel free to contact the tournament host or Ernie to determine if we have room for an additional player. We may be able to accommodate an extra player on a one-time basis. However, this year we have made a conscious effort of only inviting committed players who can attend the majority of tournaments, so open spots will be limited and rare.

Monthly Tournament

The monthly tournament will be held on any Thursday of the month unless informed otherwise, due to holiday or scheduling conflicts. We will play once a month, January - November. During one of the summer months, to be determined later, we will play twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays. We will play a total of 12 regular season games for this year’s tournament.

Payouts

Regardless of the number of players, the top three places will pay out. Payout structure is as follows:

• House Gratuity: $10 per player from purse
• Tournament Bounty: $5 per player from purse
• Year End Purse: $5 per player from purse
• 1st: 50% of remaining purse
• 2nd: 30% of remaining purse
• 3rd: 20% of remaining purse

We ARE AGAIN keeping track of points based on your place of each tournament. The top 20 money makers (winnings will be the tie-breaker if necessary) will play in the “Tournament of Champions”.

TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS STRUCTURE, RULES, AND PAYOUT FORMAT WILL BE DETERMINED AT A LATER DATE.

Chopping the Pot

Once a tournament is down to the final 3 players, the remaining players may chop the pot. The winnings may be divided however the players choose. However, places must be defined due to points used to determine entry into the Tournament of Champions.

Friendly Reminders

1. There is absolutely no player substitution allowed, regardless of situation. No exceptions. Enough said. The “Boeck” rule.
2. Final tournament buy-in is at 8:20pm. However, if you know you are going to be late, you can pay your buy-in beforehand and still be eligible for play and the extra $1000 in chips. You will be blinded out until you arrive at your seat.
3. Players must immediately show their hands when involved in an All-In. No more hiding cards until the River.
4. Like a casino; No phones, netbooks, or any electrical device that may cause you to lose focus or not pay attention to the play on the table are not allowed. What I mean by this is don’t come and play Tetris on your iPhone while participating in a tournament.
5. No bitching allowed. It takes a lot to run this league. So don’t bitch about stupid shit. I don’t see you organizing emails, coordinating hosting locations, enforcing rules, collecting money, data entering, maintaining websites, and dealing with egos.
